Many scientists including, Will Steffen from the Australian National University, informs us that we need to consider 2 groups of problems.

1. We all need to use renewable sources and change our lifestyles.

2. We all need to help China and India leapfrog from the entering the western 50 years of disastrous exploitation of the planets ressources - to a new green modernism. We need to assist, inform and join China and India in investing for a future. Business as usual is dead. We need to create the new green global and modern society.		  
 
   
When glaciers melt in China it will prevent China from growing irrigated crops in many areas, since the irrigation is dependent on the water from the melting glaciers. It is estimated that the glaciers that still exist will be gone in about 40 years. In 40 years it will be difficult to irragate the crops that now feed 400 million Chinese people.

China and India can grow to 2 billion people with no harm to the planet if they learn to grow green. The number of people will be a major problem if the population of China and India carries on striving to develop their cities as the western civilisation has done. The problem is the western exploitation of the globes ressources that will set the ecology and biology of the planet into a phase that we have absolutely no control over.
